Same Old Same Old ?

Professors Call For Ban of US Flag on College Campuses
Hmmm...banning a flag because someone claims it's "racist" and because it might "offend" somebody... sounds vaguely familiar... WHERE have we heard that before...?!?!?!

For all those who sit quietly by while they continue to attack, remove, and censor Confederate flags, on the SAME FALSE PRETENSES... the chickens have come home to roost...

"A group of university professors has signed a letter showing their solidarity with students who tried to ban the American flag at the University of California, Irvine – because they said Old Glory contributes to racism."

Are YOU mad enough yet?

RETURN the flags!
RESTORE the honor!

Yep it's more of the same old same old, Left wing Ya-Hoo's
trying to homogenize the Planet.
I'm offended by this !
Just because I'm a decedent of a Confederate Soldier
doesn't mean I'm not an
American.

I love the American Flag, I also love the CBF.

I guess it's like I said many times before--

"Take any flag you want, put it any place you want, and somebody is gonna have a problem with it!"

UPDATE !!!

One of the local Sheriffs has had ENOUGH !

  1. Dav,

The Fox News article is incredible misleading. I was sort of stunned when I first saw the story hit my Facebook feed. All I can say is get on Google and search the local papers as well as the student body papers. The issue with the flag is much more complicated and less anti-American than Fox News makes it out to be.

It appears the flag ban was not campus wide, nor was it limited to the U.S. flag. Apparently, one of the study body government organizations voted to all flags from their office lobby. That vote was vetoed by the executives of the student body organization as well as administration. Apparently, the student body government wanted all flags removed to be inclusive of the entirety of the student body they represented, not just the American one. Colleges are interesting in that respect because they partner with foreign schools and set up exchange programs.

The point being, there was never an attempt to ban the flags across campus. News of this got out because certain people at the school got upset and took to social media. Eventually the mainstream media (Fox) got word of it. Ya know, because apparently Facebook is how the get the news. But it's been blown way out of proportion. http://www.snopes.com/politics/education/ucirvine.asp

Notice the links used in the Fox News article. Those are backwater websites. It's just poor journalism. However, Fox's "pro-America" stance on numerous issues fits this narrative and they know they can use it to sale more commercial slots.

    2. The links you gave me back up your story.
But 6 students, who want flags removed from a specific location, sounds mighty familiar doesn't it ?
I'm glad Old Glory remains, I wish the folks at W&L had the testicular fortitude to stand up against " The Committee "

    3. I don't thinks it's the same. The 6 students in this case, represented a student body government that dealt with international students. They wanted the government body, to be a representative of the student body; international. They were attempting inclusiveness internally. It was never meant to be campus wide. However, the key difference here is the outrage expressed by the student body which swayed the opinions of the student executive body. That didn't happen at W&L.

I think it's a shame that it wasn't completely handled internally. Instead, politicians grabbed it and used it to grand stand. Same thing with the media.

In short, this entire thing got blown out of proportion.
