The Survey Says -----

The Results of a recent poll by Quinnipiac University

Shows This ---

57 percent of Virginia's voters oppose removing
Confederate monuments from government property across the state.

33 percent supported removal with 10 percent undecided.

Nonwhite voters favored leaving the monuments alone 48 percent to 42 percent.

With white voters, 63 percent supported the monuments
while 27 percent supported removal."

I like the results, but then again the polls had Hillary winning !

We have to maintain the fight to keep our Monuments !

No Greater Tribute.

Sometimes in our day to day lives we are blinded by repetition.

Last night one such event happened, but I took notice !

It wasn't on the 6:00 news, no hero had saved someone from a fire.

Not a war hero with a chest full of medals at the White House.

Nope it was my Son just coming in from work.

The absolute joy in the voices of my Grandson's voices as they raced to the door to greet "Daddy" !

No Hero on earth has ever gotten a better greeting.

It's the small things folks, that make our lives worth living !

I think the Grim Reaper took a swipe at me last week,
My B/P was 192/124. That has made me make a few changes.

I've put down cigarettes and cut back on salt & sugar.

I'm gonna take more time to read with the boy's !

Yep I wanna hang around a bit longer - if for no other reason - antagonise Yankees !

have a Dixie Day Folks !

Honestly Abe ----

One of the huge lies that Lincoln propagandists love to tout, is that despite all of the many racist quotes by Lincoln against black people, he really was against slavery because he forbade the extension of slavery into the new territories. They could not be more wrong! In Lincoln’s own words we find out the REAL reason he forbade the extension of slavery. He wanted these new territories and states to be white paradises, and he knew that if slavery was allowed to spread, the white slave owners would bring their black slaves with them and ruin that plan. He didn’t give a crap about black people! The refusal to extend slavery was NOT an act of benevolence for the black people. It was a strategic power play for keeping them OUT of the new territories. PERIOD!

Corey Wins !

Corey Stewart,
a conservative who built his public image on championing Confederate symbols,
won the Republican Senate nomination in Virginia.

In my hometown of Suffolk VA he won by 29 votes !

One of the votes was mine !

His next race will be against Tim Kaine
who was Crooked Hillary's running mate  !

Here is hoping VA goes back to being a red state !

Voices of the Civil War --

In 2011 my local paper "The Virginian Pilot"
Did a 6 part series entitled
"VOICES OF THE CIVIL WAR"

I was interviewed and had a thing or two in the paper --

This was from week 4 --

No automatic alt text available.

After the series they came out with a book -
I finally bought a copy !

It was pretty fair and presented both sided of the war.

A segment on Black Union soldiers.

Also a segment on Yankee atrocities ( top left )

One part dealt with questionable Yankee activities.

But guess who had the last word ?

ME !

On the last page was my interview --

Not 100% accurate ( the reporter misquoted me on the rock throwing event.)

I don't recall the First Co Richmond Howitzers being at Second Manassas.

You can see the Howitzers history HERE !

But the rest of the segment was point on !

" Slavery was the sin of a nation. To lay it on the doorstep of the South is convenient,
but it's not the whole truth."

I'm going to leave it ( the book ) to my Grandchildren.
