BACK LASH !!

It seems the current  "Erase All Things Confederate" movement has opened the eyes of a lot of folks.

Case in point !

A councilman in Portsmouth VA wants a monument removed

For the story--

I love that monument, I've passed by it thousands of times.

When the story broke this happened--

Can you say Backlash ?

I'm going to the Rally, and as is my style I've made Ribbons for the event--

Two Different Ones.

It's a catch 22 thing for me, I glad I can make the event, but it's a shame I have to.

This event is repeating likewise across the country.

Rally's are being held in many places.

Fence sitting Confederate supporters are saying --

Enough is Enough !

And are taking to the streets to show support.

Not only that I've added hundreds of folks to Southern  facebook pages .

And while searching for a Confederate flag for a friend I found this --

NOTE: We have seen an unprecedented demand for Confederate Flags of all styles. At this time, we are out of stock on all Confederate items. At this time, this item is on backorder. We will expect these flags back in stock within 1-2 weeks. Thank you for your patience and understanding!

NOT SO FAST !

Remove the Battle Flag ?

The Tidal Wave of  Remove all things Confederate has developed a riptide.

Flag sales are at an all time high !

Thousands of people are joining Southern Facebook pages.

And Rally's across the country !

1

Brooksville Fla.

There will be no confederate flag burning today on the steps of the Brooksville courthouse. A group of 10 activist drove from Tampa with the intention of burning a Confederate flag they were met head on by over 300 plus confederate flag waving Southern pride Brooksville people. The activist stood their ground and shouted Black people matter yet the African Americans that attended the rally stood on the side of Southern Pride and chanted "Go Home"

BE PREPARED !

Wow it seems thousands of folks are joining F/B "Southern" pages.
I serve as an administrator on two of em !
In the past few days I've added a bunch of folks.

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank all who have joined !

I would also like to take the chance to encourage all new members to take an
 active position outside of Facebook.

Participating at pages on Facebook is great, but we need more !

Given the current wave of  anti-confederate action we need much more !

What's the best thing to do ?
Arm yourself with the TRUTH , before you do anything else.

There are many stories out there that we have all heard and
as good as they sound they simply are not true !

Robert E Lee's "Strike the tent"  last words quote is one such story.
It sounds good and will endear him to your heart,
but as for his last words, he never said it !

After arming yourself with the TRUTH you will be better prepared to deal with the
Anti-Southern forces you will encounter. And you will encounter them !
They will seek you out and attack what you say !
This is where "Be Prepared" comes in, You will be called, Racist, Neo-Confederate,
Heck I've even been called Confederate Taliban ! So once you commit, BE PREPARED !

It's OK to engage in a brief response to the "Haters"
but don't get trapped into a long drawn out battle.
( That's what they want )

You have better things to do with your time !

What Can You Do ?

Anything that promotes the Truth and Honors our Confederate Heroes.

If you can fly the flag, please do so !

Homeowners association won't allow it ?
( Heck sometimes you can't fly the American Flag either )

There are numerous things you can do,  Bumper sticker ?

A Hat, a Lapel pin a T-Shirt --- But ya gotta be careful repercussions can pop up at your workplace.
Then what ? What can you do to move forward and stay positive !

One of the simplest things you can do ---

Get a bucket of water, some soap and a brush and wash a Confederates Tombstone !

Some friends of mine tended to my ancestors grave when I couldn't

They raked and pulled weeds, and I Thank them for their efforts !

I make small REMEMBER Coins to be left at the Graves of Confederate Veterans !

I also make Commemorative ribbons.

And from time to time I print up a few copies of a booklet of poems I have written,-

What you can do is only limited by your Imagination.

Again I would like to thank all of the New Facebook members for joining.

But please, if you can, take your actions outside of Facebook.

Thank You !

6/28/2015

The onslaught of attacks against our flags, our Veterans, and our heritage in recent days is unprecedented. While we have obviously suffered setbacks, we are encouraged by what appears to be the beginning of an outcry and pushback from Southerners across the country. Over the course of two days, we have seen an increase of fans on our FB page by over 1,000 NEW followers. Our email, messaging, and phone messages are swamped with requests for assistance, offers of support, and folks wanting to know what they can do to get involved. We believe that this is a crucial time and we must find a way to engage EVERYONE who is ready to stand and fight for our heritage.

The Virginia Flaggers have for some time advocated for a shift of responsibility of honoring our ancestors from municipalities to individuals and heritage groups. The Interstate Flag projects, patterned after the Georgia SCV Division's "Project Wave" initiative are one offshoot of this. We also encourage ALL supporters of Confederate heritage to fly a Confederate flag on your personal property and would like to call EVERYONE to put up a flag and have it flying by Sunday, June 28th, in a show of solidarity of the Southern people, to take a stand against the tide of hate and misinformation, and in honor and memory of the CONFEDERATE SOLDIERS who fought and died in the War Between the States.

“National Raise Your Battle Flag Day”, SUNDAY, JUNE 28th! Fly a Confederate flag, take a photo and post on FaceBook, Twitter, Instagram…across social media, with the hashtag ‪#‎raiseyourbattleflag‬  ‬, and post the photos to our FB page.

A good and sufficient reason.

Carrying dangerous weapon to place of religious worship while a meeting for religious purposes is being held unless you have "good and sufficient reason." There is no known definition of what a good and sufficient reason would be. Violation is a minor crime, punishable by a fine of up to $100.

Regrettably we now have a good and sufficient reason !

13 SHINING STARS !

Well folks the're done !

This project took some time but I loved it ! I also learned a lot.

13 Confederate Women.

Some of, I learned about for the first time !

My favorite has to be --

Carrie McGavock.

I'd never heard of her, but was moved by her actions.

Each ribbon has a short Bio behind the front ribbon.

I've put a lot of time into this set, but I've learned a lot.

Thank God for all of these women, and many more who are not here.

Well the hardest part choosing a subject then sizing & cropping the picture, typing, editing, and fitting it all on a ribbon is done,

I have them all saved in a project folder, now it's just a matter of putting the ribbon in and hitting print. ( Yeah right)
Then printing the Bio, attaching it to the front ribbon, attaching them to the coin and finally adding the bar pin. It's a lot of work !

This set whooped me ! / I'm taking a few days off from ribbons and coins.

OK OK OK--
Due to popular demand it's now
