Lincoln's Porn Statue ---

Bennington Museum Lincoln Statue

"In the entry courtyard of the Bennington Museum is a statue of a standing Abe Lincoln, a little nude boy, and a young girl. The topless girl is kneeling with her face looking at Abe's face and he's holding her head at - shall we say - his middle body. Abe is wearing only a trench coat that goes down to his knees, and one half of it has been pulled around to cover the girl. It appears that something naughty is going on. The statue is a legitimate piece of art and the museum tries (via signs) many times during your visit to explain, to kids mainly, that the statue is just fine for when it was made."

Well Excuuuuuuuse me !

"A Pittsburgh Public work crew prepares to remove the Stephen Foster statue in Schenley Plaza on Thursday, April 26, 2018, in Pittsburgh. The 118-year-old statue of the “Oh! Susanna” songwriter was removed after criticism that the work is demeaning because it includes a slave sitting at his feet, plucking a banjo. The Pittsburgh Art Commission voted unanimously last October to relocate the statue."

A letter home / From a Yankee --

Union soldier James G. Bates wrote a letter to his father that was reprinted in an Indiana newspaper in May 1863. In the letter Bates assured his father that there were black Confederate soldiers:

I can assure you [his father,] of a certainty, that the rebels have Negro soldiers in their army. One of their best sharp shooters and the boldest of them all here is a Negro. He dug himself a rifle pit last night [16 April 1863] just across the river and has been annoying our pickets opposite him very much to-day. You can see him plain enough with the naked eye, occasionally, to make sure that he is a "wooly-head," and with a spy-glass there is no mistaking him. (Winchester Journal, May 1, 1863)

Warm and Fuzzy !

Well tonight I went to an SCV meeting.

The Tom Smith Camp 1702 had a Guest Speaker I've known on line but had never met in person !

Teresa Roane.

I've been to a number of meetings that were full of passion !

This meeting was full of Heart.

Teresa not only speaks with irrefutable knowledge and facts, but speaks with a warm heart !

My effort to cover her presentation could not do it justice.

The subject of Black Confederates is often attacked by Naysayer Historians.

I wish they could have attended tonight's meeting !

The old saying "You can lead a horse to water but can't make him drink" may apply.

But if you left this meeting thirsty that's your own fault !

I left the event with the old Warm and Fuzzy feeling.

Thank you Teresa, now that we've meet in person I feel we are true friends.

And as you said - "The Truth Will Continue To Come Out !"

Over 3000 made !

Folks on F/B Confederate friendly pages love this ---

Image may contain: indoor

I've made over 3000 of em and put em in circulation.

Sometimes I glue em to rocks --

No automatic alt text available.

then place them to be found

Image may contain: outdoor

Sometimes I put them in the need a penny holder at cash registers.

I've also mailed hundreds of em to folks across the Country !

I often get comments that it's illegal / it's not !

If it were how could tourist spots do this --
Or how could this be legal and what I do not --

The only thing you can do that violates the law is alter it to make it appear it's worth more than it is !

As long as no fraudulent intent is attempted you can do what you wish with a coin !

I got the Die I use to stamp the coins with as a Christmas present 2 years ago !

The company that sells them has been out of stock for a long time !

So I guess I'll keep stamping pennies til the Die wears out !

What would you have done ?

The Billboard quote is from William Henry Tatum, My Great Grand Uncle.

This was part of a letter home Oct 9th 1862 long before Sherman's March !
The entire letter is here

After the war My Great Grand Father wrote --

" After an interval of over thirty years of time my memory takes me back to my wartime days
(1861 1865) it seems strange about my experience as a Confederate soldier , yet it is true.
And that I am proud today as a prince of that experience.
I rejoice with exceeding great joy to know that I and my brother William were soldiers in the Army of Northern Virginia and that I lived in the same days and generation and breathed the same liberty loving atmosphere as Generals Lee and Jackson and that incomparable host of patriots whose valor and heroic achievements for our cause has challenged the admiration of the civilized world .
My brother and I did our duty to the last, we had guns and used them in many hard fought battles to our satisfaction, without either being taken prisoner or receiving only slight wounds once in a while"

" Oh say have you seen ?"

Image may contain: sky, outdoor and nature

It's been a while since I've been to Charlottesville but with the newest Flag going up
#27, a road trip may be in the near future !

April 12th seems like a good day, it's my Birthday, Wedding Anniversary (#40) and an Important day in Confederate history !

The illegal shrouds have been removed from the Statues at Lee and Jackson parks.
That alone is worth a 4 1/2 hour drive !

But a new Flag is up along I-64,

and I have a few rolls of pennies that need to be put into circulation.

I also have a few Rebel Rocks that I can place --

Might just make an interesting day !

A hat tip to TriPp Lewis for allowing me to use the flag pics !
