Bringing up the Rear.

I was unable to attend the

Memorial Day Ceremony at Ceder Hill this year.

So I went this morning.

It was overcast and muggy, a good day to stay inside in the A/C.

But I ventured out with a pocket full of the new design

Remember Tokens I am making.

The SCV and UDC had all the graves marked with Flags.

I instantly knew there would be many who did not get a Cross of Honor token.

But I gave out what I had.

Staying Positive !

This is what I came up with ---

I tried numerous styles --

and paint combinations

I even stumbled across a way to make em look old

I wanted to go this way

But Decided on this ---

A Brass and Silver Paint combination !

Leaving the material in between the Cross Blades

lets me do a two tone paint that makes the Cross stand out.

Not too large and I feel they will be a fitting token for our ancestors.

Staying Positive !

Something Old, Something New --

Well I'm trying something new !

I've made over 1.000 remember coins.

And they are now on the Graves of Confederate Soldiers

all across the South !

I'm honored that folks think they are good enough to place on our 

Confederate ancestors resting spots.

However !

I wanted to try something New,

So I purchased a small Cross of Honor Medal and made a copy --

The First batch came out OK,

but I know I can do better.

Our ancestors who gave so much deserve no less than

the Best I can do !

Something NEW - ( sort of )

Well being partially retired has given me time to try new stuff !

My latest project is fashioned after military medals --

I started out with some coins I made with the VA State Seal on them --

First I had to copy the seal off a Challenge coin !

Then I made a batch of them.

I had the coins made but still didn't know what to do with them.

 I wanted to come up with something different.

Then I saw this picture of the Ceremony at Oakwood.

The light came on !

A military style medal !

This is what I came up with !

Nothing fancy, just something to say thanks to the Virginia Flaggers !

I'm still tinkering around with the design !

But like I was taught by a good friend --
I'm Staying Positive !
