Repeal The 2nd Amendment ?

Justice Stevens stated -

Well I agree with the original intent of the 2nd amendment !

The free and sovereign states had a right to protect themselves from an oppressive Government.

That is what the War Between the States was about !

But to repeal or abolish it is lunacy !

The threat of an oppressive Government will ALWAYS exist !

But if the 2nd amendment were to be repealed what's next ?

Could the 1st amendment be in danger ?

Repeal one and the domino effect is sure to follow !

Old Abe said - "A house divided against itself cannot stand."

Well Dave Tatum says - " A house with no foundation will fall !"

The Constitution and its amendments are the Foundation of America !

Start removing pieces of the foundation and a collapse shall occur !

I'm thankful Justice Stevens is retired.

He should be playing Bingo on Tuesday nights,

 Not making critical decisions regarding national affairs.

But he does retain his 1st amendment right,

 unless someone decides that it should be repealed as well !

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, 

shall not be infringed.

Equal Under The Law ?

Two men — one from Charlottesville, one from Richmond — have both been found guilty of trespassing and vandalism and sentenced to jail time in several instances of the removal of tarps from the Robert E. Lee and Thomas “Stonewall” Jackson statues in Charlottesville.

In taking the unusual step of assigning jail time for misdemeanor charges, Judge Joseph Sirks said he was emphasizing the importance of following the legal process and appealing city decisions through the courts. “We are in an age where someone takes action into their own hands and then everyone becomes a copycat,” Sirks said as he delivered his decision.

 “That doesn’t work in a system of the law.”

 in Confederate monument toppling case

"For my office to continue to take these cases to trial based on the same evidence would be a misuse of state resources," Echols said. "For that reason, I will dismiss the remaining charges against the remaining defendants."

( No evidence here is there ? )

Let me see if I got this correct -

 You can tear down a statue in Durham and walk free !

But remove an "illegal tarp" in Charlottesville and get jail time !

Yeeeeeesh !

Well the long awaited ruling on the C-Ville tarps is in --

 Judge Richard Moore gave the city 15 days from the date the order is entered to remove the tarps.

Now I pose the question -

Will Charlottesville's Police

Continue to guard the Statues

against Vandals ?

Three arrests were made to protect the illegal tarps !

So I went to a source and posed the question --

the reply was -

Now that the statues are going to be open to view, the vandals will be free to deface them !

Hopefully the Monument Guard will pick up the slack.

And on a side note --

Wes Bellamy continues to display his Hatred and Ignorance -

Heck I don't know what you'd call it, in connection with the trap removal at Jackson Park !

The Sweet Virginia Breeze !

Lee and Jackson ride again in Charlottesville!

 It looks like the sweet Virginia Breeze was too much for the illegal tarps overnight. 

All Glory to God !

All honor to the Confederate Soldier !

UPDATE !

 The tarps on the Lee and Jackson statues were removed again late Saturday night.

The Charlottesville Police Department said the tarps were removed after 11 p.m. Saturday.

The city has since replaced the tarps as of Sunday morning.

After several similar occurrences last year, the city installed a fence and put signs up which say "city personnel only, no trespassing."

Police said no arrests have been made at this time regarding this incident.

Update II

 The tarps on the Lee and Jackson statues have been removed for a THIRD TIME in the past 24 hours.



Lee and Jackson are free from their illegal coverings for the night, as Charlottesville PD report no attempt to recover will take place until tomorrow morning. A Charlottesville judge will rule tomorrow on the motion filed to have them removed based on violation of Virginia law. We expect the final removal will be at the expense of Charlottesville City Council.
