If ya need to fix a gun law ---

It seems Ralph (coonman) Northam wants to make changes to the gun laws in Virginia.

Coonman Proposes -

Legislation requiring background checks on all firearms sales and transactions. The bill mandates that any person selling, renting, trading, or transferring a firearm must first obtain the results of a background check before completing the transaction.

Legislation banning dangerous weapons. This will include bans on assault weapons, high-capacity magazines, bump stocks and silencers.

Legislation to reinstate Virginia’s successful law allowing only one handgun purchase within a 30-day period.

Legislation requiring that lost and stolen firearms be reported to law enforcement within 24 hours.

Legislation creating an Extreme Risk Protective Order, allowing law enforcement and the courts to temporarily separate a person from firearms if the person exhibits dangerous behavior that presents an immediate thre

Legislation prohibiting all individuals subject to final protective orders from possessing firearms. The bill expands Virginia law which currently prohibits individuals subject to final protective orders of family abuse from possessing firearms.

Legislation enhancing the punishment for allowing access to loaded, unsecured firearm by a child from a Class 3 Misdemeanor to a Class 6 felony. The bill also raises the age of the child from 14 to 18.

Legislation enabling localities to enact any firearms ordinances that are stricter than state law. This includes regulating firearms in municipal buildings, libraries and at permitted events.

The proposed laws only restrict law abiding gun owners.

HOWEVER !

I can see one gun law that needs tweaking !

Virginia's law covering Conceal Carry Permits !
Concealed carry is legal with a license/permit. Virginia Handgun Permits (VHPs) are issued to both residents and non-residents at least 21 years old and require a firearms training course that has been approved by the state.

Heck the way the law is written you can take an online course and qualify to carry a concealed hand gun, and you never have to touch a gun !

So for $28 you can be certified - and never have to touch a gun !
That's Crazy !!!

Heck the state will allow you to carry a pistol in your pocket and the only gun you have ever laid a hand on might be --


If the State is going to under wright your CCP/ VHPs it should require you to take a hands on course with real guns with Classroom instructors and shooting range experience.
 Or show proof that you have experience with a firearm !
It's a safety thing !

Otherwise the state might want to consider Constitutional Carry !
( This releases the state of any liability )

 The term constitutional carry, also called permit less carry, unrestricted carry, or Vermont carry, refers to the legal carrying of a handgun, either openly or concealed, without a license or permit.

Virginia's Conceal Carry law as written is simply another TAX !

You can bet your bottom dollar Virginia, this is gonna happen !

Monuments across the state shall be coming down !

Now that the Democrats have control, all Confederate Monuments will be abolished.                            And there is not a Damn thing we can do to stop it !

Governor (Coonman) Northam and his Democrat cohorts will see to it !

As upsetting as the monument situation is and will be in the future.

And it's a sure bet it is going to happen also !

Makes it a felony to import, sell, transfer, manufacture, purchase, possess, or transport an assault Firearm.
Makes it a Class 1 misdemeanor to import, sell, barter, or transfer any firearm magazine designed to hold more than 10 rounds of ammunition.
Makes it a Class 1 misdemeanor for any person knowingly to authorize a child under the age 18 to use a firearm except when the person is under the supervision of an adult.
Makes it a Class 1 misdemeanor to purchase more than one handgun a month, some exceptions apply.
Makes it a Class 2 misdemeanor for an armed CHP carrier to consume alcohol in public places.
Authorizes localities to enact their own firearm laws during permit events.
Increases age from 18 to 21 that an adult can purchase a firearm.
Increases age from 18 to 21 that an adult can possess a handgun.

And it won't be long til we also have to deal with --

I still get the feeling that it's not over !

The Sky went Silent !

On 9/11/2001 I was working on the approach of runways 32 Left and Right at Oceana,



                                    a bright day without a cloud in the sky.



We heard on a truck radio that a plane had hit the WTC.
We all thought it was a small passenger plane and continued with our job. Not long after we heard a second plane had hit the towers. All work came to a halt as we listened to the radio.
The project manager joined us as information filtered in.
Some time later we were told to evacuate the airfield
.
If you live or work near  Naval Air Station Oceana  you know it's seldom quiet jets are always taking off or landing.


But on 9/11 the skys went silent - Nothing was flying !

The airstrip was sealed off and we had a heck of a time leaving it as we had been instructed to do.
The exits had been blocked with Barricades and had Service men with weapons preventing anyone from entering or leaving. I waited at the base of the Tower until an escort came and let us off the airfield.


                     A horrible day that I wish I could forget, but need to remember !

Lawful Action !

Every once in a while I'll repost a photo on Facebook.

The one below is popular once again.

I was working directly across the street at a construction site 

and took many  opportunities to visit Tredegar.

I was appalled that this statue was there ! So in order to display my feelings I purchased a small Battle Flag and placed it where you see it. I took the photo, then removed the flag, not wanting to cause disharmony for other visitors.

I still remain opposed to the location of this statue and favor it's 

lawful removal to a more appropriate location.

(Rocketts Landing ?  Lincoln did set foot there.  )

Unlike the mob at Durham -

who took unlawful action but were let off the hook by the DA.

"For my office to continue to take these cases to trial based on the same evidence would be a misuse of state resources," Echols said. "For that reason, I will dismiss the remaining charges against the remaining defendants."

(What a load of Horse Hockey !)

I favor lawful action !

An option for Lincoln's statue (my favorite) would be --



Melt it down on site as educational instruction.

Then cast a cannon !


But the influx of Carpetbaggers and continuing presence of Scalawags in Richmond,
make any favorable action unlikely.
