OOOOOPS !

While editing my last post I was all thumbs and Deleted it !

I was adding additional research on Stamped Pennies.

I got a number of comments and was SWAMPED with requests.

After all if you can do this --

How can it be illegal to stamp one ?

But I have to be careful  don't want to get Uncle Sam on my Back.

  We all know anything Confederate,

Specifically, Section 331 of Title 18 of the United States code provides criminal penalties for anyone who “fraudulently alters, defaces, mutilates impairs, diminishes, falsifies, scales, or lightens any of the coins coined at the Mints of the United States.”
This statute means that one may be violating the law if the appearance of the coin is changed and represented to be other than the altered coin that it is with the intent of fraud.
 As a matter of policy, the U.S. Mint does not promote coloring, plating or altering U.S. coinage, however, there are no sanctions against such activity unless the intent is to be fraudulent.

Hmmmmmm ?

Roadside rebel flag violates zoning ordinance.

Story HERE !

Yep this ain't the first time the issue has been raised.

I remember when the first roadside flag went up along I-95 in Chester.

The VDOT right of way issue was raised, as were claims of

"Disturbing Confederate Burial Grounds"

Same old Same Old, nothing new.

I myself had a complaint when I put up my Monument -

The local paper made mention of it

Yep put up anything "Confederate" and somebody is gonna gripe about it !

As for the Flag in Lexington, the land owner says

"Brian Rowsey, who runs the 60 West Pawn Shop where the flag is located just north of city limits, vowed Tuesday: “That flag is not coming down.”

Well we shall see, Eddie Inman said it best --

"Worse thing that happens is the pole gets moved a few feet. Flag will just as visible."

And another Flag is coming in Chesapeake VA, 

Gotta be there for that !

Victory in Charlottesville!

WES BELLAMY'S MOTION TO MOVE THE ROBERT E. LEE STATUE FAILS...

...AND KRISTEN SZAKOS, THE WOMAN WHO FIRST CALLED FOR MONUMENT REMOVAL, ANNOUNCES SHE WILL NOT RUN FOR RE-ELECTION!

The motion failed on a 2-2 vote, with Bellamy and Szakos voting to move the monument, Galvin and Mayor Signer voting to keep it in place, and Fenwick abstaining.

This decision will save the citizens of Charlottesville millions in wasted legal fees. Lawyers were standing by with injunctions and law suits, ready to file should Bellamy's motion have passed. City Councillors knew this and opinions from their own City Attorney and the Commonwealth's Attorney General confirmed that moving the monuments would have violated state law.

Now that the monument matter is settled, the Va Flaggers call on Wes Bellamy to resign immediately. It is obvious that he does not have the support of his peers or his constituents. He is out of touch and unfit for office, and if allowed to remain on City Council, will continue to be a distraction and impediment.

This victory follows on the heels of a similar decision in Alexandria, where state delegates refused to seek permission from the State legislature to remove the Confederate monument there, and the defeat of Mayoral candidates in Portsmouth and Richmond who had called for the removal of Confederate Monument.

On the heels of the Lee-Jackson Day holiday in Virginia, and on the eve of his birthday, the Robert E. Lee monument in Charlottesville will remain.

God bless the eternal memory of Robert E Lee...and God Save the South!

Spear Up Coin's.

I love making Tokens / Coins to be left on the graves of Confederate soldiers,

I had given up finding one like I wanted, The "Spear Up" VA Seal.

While I was looking for a wall sized Spear up Seal, 

My Son in law sent me a link to a coin sized seal. 

Won't be long til I start making Spear Up coins for our Confederate Soldiers from Virginia !

Nailing Jell-O to the Wall.

What's it like trying to get a DIRECT answer from Kevin Levin ?

This picture says it all !

Trying to get a Direct answer from him is kinda like nailing Jello to a wall.

Unless it's an anti-Confederate statement.

Then it's like placing concrete.

I visited his blog the other day,

And true to form his spotlight on slavery was as bright as ever !

Typical Levin, nothing new there.

 In the comments section Kevin said ---

"Ending slavery was certainly not the primary goal of the United States from the beginning to the end. The goal was preserving the Union. Slavery became a way to do that by 1863. The goal of the Confederacy from beginning to end was the preservation of slavery and white supremacy."

So that statement prompted me to ask a question --

"Wouldn’t that imply that the North was fighting for a Union 

that included the preservation of slavery ?"

Well Jell-O Man did reply but indirectly, and of course had to spin his reply --

"If the war had ended before the end of 1863 it is likely that the United States would have continued as a slaveholding nation. Of course, the war continued and slavery ended with it. That is something that all of us can celebrate. If the Confederacy had proved victorious the enslavement of roughly 4 million people would have continued. We can all be thankful that it failed."

Like I said getting Levin to admit that the North was  fighting for a Union that included

The Preservation of Slavery, is like nailing Jell-O to a wall !

I was sent a few pictures of the on goings in Lexington VA.
